I am running again for the North Clackamas School Board, Position 5 because as a former English Language Learner and the first person in my family to graduate from college, I know the power of public education in transforming lives. I have lived in the district with my multigenerational family for 20 years. While my parents worked long hours, I helped raise my two younger siblings so that they can get the best public education.  They attended Mt. Scott Elementary, Happy Valley Middle School, and are graduates of Clackamas High School.

My grandfather always said, "once you are educated, no one can take that power away from you." One of my first jobs was organizing afterschool enrichment programs in STEM (science, technology, education, and math) for middle school girls through a non-profit organization. Since then,  I have spent over the past decade of my professional career making a difference in the lives of young people, diverse communities, and our school district.

  • As an Academic Success Coordinator, I have helped English Language Learners and former refugee youth from war-torn countries graduate from high school and go on to pursue their dreams.

  • As a Civic Engagement Director, I have expanded opportunities for diverse communities to exercise their right to vote and participate in our democracy.

  • As a Dedicated Public Servant, I have spent countless hours serving on our District's Committees and other community involvement roles (TriMet Board, Co-Chair for Metro's Supportive Services Housing Committee to address homelessness).

From an early age, my family instilled the notion of giving back to community. I hope that with your support, I can continue to make a positive impact on the students, families and communities in our district.

With gratitude for your support,

Delivering Results for North Clackamas

I have delivered results for our students, families and community. Over the past four years we have:

  • Increased graduation rates & added elective and AP courses

  • Expanded CTE programs at Sabin-Schellenberg

  • Enacted resolutions celebrating the cultural diversity of our students and families

  • Built a new student health center and upgraded emergency safety plans

  • Saved taxpayers $7 million in refinancing construction bond

  • Championed a safe return to school using data-informed approaches to protect students, teachers, and community

I want to continue the great work we have started and go further to achieve:

  • Greater student voice and support

  • Expanding childcare and early-learning opportunities

  • Transparent bond oversight

  • Reach 100% graduation rate
